DISCLAIMER FOR QALAT

Welcome to the Qalat Database! Qalat is the first database of its kind only about Syrian Women Experts. It profiles Syrian women experts who are based inside and outside Syria. Before proceeding with your application, please read carefully our disclaimer.

Who can apply as Women experts? Since the main aim of the Qalat program is to bring more women’s voices into the media, any woman can be an expert in her working field. Therefore, to be part of Qalat you must identify your specific area of expertise, in order to categorize your data which will later be provided to media organization, researcher and/or freelancers when needed. IMPORTANT: If you do not fulfil the hereunder listed criteria, you are not eligible to be part of the database.

  • Syrian women, meaning any individual that identifies themselves as such
  • Women experts from 20 years old onward
  • Not having record of promoting hate speech, acting in any discriminatory way or promoting sexist and/or racist behaviour

Who can apply as a media organization/individual? IMPORTANT: If you do not fulfil the hereunder listed criteria, you are not eligible to be part of the database.

  • You are a:
    • journalist belonging to media organizations
    • freelancer journalist
    • researcher
    • representative of media organizations, media outlets, media agencies
  • You do not have a record of promoting hate speech, or act in any discriminatory way or promote sexist and/or racist behaviour
  • You don’t support nor promote dictators or oppressive states or terrorist or violent organizations.

If you do not comply with the previous requirements, that means you are not eligible to submit an application, and your request will be rejected. If you have any objection, please contact info@sfjn.org and we will be happy to provide you with more information.

The content on the Qalat website is written and sourced with great care, and is regularly checked and updated. We cannot, however, guarantee that the content on this website is always accurate, complete and up-to-date. Therefore, SFJN as the administrator of the database,  does not accept any responsibility or liability for possible inaccuracies.

You may use the information and resources provided on this website if we are mentioned as the source, preferably including a link. You may not use, share, publish, alter or sell any material without permission. Commercial use or publication of all or any material displayed and any use of the QALAT logo, without prior written permission from SFJN, is strictly prohibited.
